A small community organization with a very active membership holds an annual dinner every year. If they tell you "i'll send you the check when i get paid," chances are, you will never see that money. Others visit their vacation home nearly every weekend and holiday. Some activities are restricted or prohibited under the college policy or state law. Kids going out in force to sell something to everyone in their neighborhood, usually to their parents first. Host a small open house before you leave to publicly recognize and thank your supporters. Publicize the fundraiser, train members how to run the activity, and secure all donations well in advance of the event.
